Da Nang

I will introduce Da Nang in Vietnam because I considered here as one of my favourite places for traveling and relaxing. Soon to be my second home. About Da Nang, locals are spending more slow time and security wise, it’s better than Hanoi and Ho chi Minh. Da Nang city is located beside the sea, and as expected, prone to disaster like typhoon. But, nevertheless, they say that they love Da Nang so much and I clearly proven when I stayed for around two weeks. Since it is surrounded by seas, you can eat fresh seafoods. I have eaten many kinds beside the street.

When it comes to cost of living, Da Nang is around half lower compared in Hanoi. Also, property costs are way cheaper. By the way, can you drive a bike? If you stay in there, you can rent it with your international driving license. You must check your license if it can be officially used to driving in Vietnam.

In here, I chose local hotel. Fare is around USD 13 per night but it was comfortable. Facilities are enough for me as it is equipped with an air conditioner, and I am entitled to use some of the amenities. It’s a practical choice anyway. Aside from the accommodation, the hotel staffs are very friendly. They open the door for me though I stayed late because I always joined with Vietnamese friends in the bar until might night. I am grateful for them the way they treated me.

Just a moment...

Let’s go to the beach. Now, it’s beginning of June, the weather is already hot and can be felt from outside. At Da Nang, many people are swimming and enjoying with their friends and family at the beach during this kind of season. The sand is fine like a powder snow. You can walk with barefoot. It was so peaceful.

Lucky that I have friend here. He accompanied me with his bike in going to different spots. We were driving anywhere.

I will introduce some great places. As you know and heard, there are a lot of coffee shops in Vietnam. I found a unique one in there. You can choose the shop with an aircon or not. You are welcome to go anywhere you want to go.

This coffee shop is in local area. You will pass the narrow road when you get there. Staffs are so friendly to their customers. That time, I met the owner and talked with him for a while. He has 3 coffee shops in there, and the one that I had been visiting looks nostalgic because of the old interiors. It was a great environment.

In other countries, Highland coffee also have branches. In fact, it’s popular coffee shop in Vietnam. According to friend, this one is the biggest in this country. Before the coffee shop established, this was a TV tower. When it is no longer operational, Highland coffee shop occupied one part. We could still see the steel frames inside the shop as the remaining old parts of the previous tower.

About foods, I post some photos. Everything is reasonable and tasty. I often eat at street side using low chair and table. You can choose most of local foods.

Hoi An, it’s very popular name around the world. If you stay in Da Nang, you can go there by bike for 1hr. The natives could still live in historical buildings. I recommend you stay from late afternoon ‘til early evening as you could see the 2- way environments. Many travelers coming there, so if you want full relaxation, you keep staying in Da Nang area but some of the streets are always crowded.

Hoa Nghiem Cave is situated in a South area of Da Nang. 30 minutes away from the city by driving a bike. If you want to go you must climb the 150 steps stairs as what you see in the photo below.

There are some historical temples on the mountain top. According to information, they have history for over 1000 years.

After praying at the temples, I went to a cave tour.

So humid outside but the inside portion is cool. My body temperature had cool down after getting in. This is very mysterious and historical place. Big buddha is enshrined somewhere. If you are not Buddhist, you feel that you want to pray.

After the first cave tour, I used a lift (15,000VND). Then I transferred to another cave again. This time I felt cooler. It’s indescribable feeling for me. It is like exploring an outside world.

Almost visitors were Vietnamese. I saw only few foreigners here, so this is still not so popular maybe.

You must visit Da Nang if you want to experience more fun and adventure.
