Singapore -how to go and how to move-

Most of us likes to tour to Singapore, also known as The Lion City because of the elegant features of the whole place. We are also aware how costly staying there. Despite the fact, Singapore is like my second home town and a very familiar place for me. City is well organized. Travelers are already welcome to visit. In Singapore, citizen is around 70% pure Chinese. So, they can speak Mandarin Chinese normally. and in English as well. Others talk in Malay language, while some can talk Tamil language. Many kinds of mixed cultures are there. By then, you would also adapt various cultures.

How to go to? Typically, to Changi international airport by airline if your starting point is from other countries. If you are staying in the neighboring countries like in Malaysia and Indonesia, you have an option and if you also want to save money in your travel, you have 2 ways. One is from Malaysia by bus or Taxi. The other is from Batam Island in Indonesia by Ferry. From Malaysia, there are 2 bridges to pass through.

1) Johor Bahru- Woodland.  This is normal way. But you often meet terrible traffic jam. You should avoid commuting time. Better to avoid these travel hours base on my experience. From Malaysia to Singapore: Weekday – 5am to 12am. Weekend – 4pm to 10pm.

From Singapore to Malaysia: Weekday – 4pm to 11pm. Weekend – 4am to 10am.

Unfortunately, even if I avoided the rush hours, I still meet hard traffic jam. So, you must go to the restroom beforehand. About bus, you can use Causeway Link Bus. You can find this bus easily, because of yellow color and the usual route is from Malaysia to Singapore. You must have a ticket with you so that you can catch at any buses. In this case, you pass through an immigration by walk after getting off from the bus. Should be better if your belongings are few to avoid any hindrance when the immigration will do the inspection. This is how they implement their rules. All stuffs are being checked most especially alcohols, cigarette, etc.

2) Second link bridge. this bridge is relatively slow compared to woodland. But you must go near the bridge. It is rural area in Malaysia. So, if you want to use a causeway bus, better to go AEON MALL Bukit Indah first. After that, you can go by Causeway Link Bus from AEON MALL.

From Batam island, you should use a ferry.  Fare is around USD 35. It’s not so cheap anyway, because most Singaporean are traveling there. The price matches and relies to them.

From Batam island to Singapore, there are some ferries operating in a day. You can find to any web site for booking. I recommend to book in advance because often times they are fully booked during long holidays and week end. You should also pass the immigration by walk. Don’t forget this.

About accommodation, there are many high- grade hotels in there. If you have sufficient budget, you can choose all. But not so comparatively reasonable area is east area than Orchard road.
